Doug Leiker, an original owner of Five Star Mechanical Inc., has been in the HVAC business for over 30 years. Doug works primarily as an on-site technician specializing in Pool Paks, boilers, compressors, chillers, and factory start-ups. Doug also serves as a trainer for some of our technicians, helping them understand the importance of being dedicated to providing the best possible service and the attention to detail, including safety regulations, for our customers.
Stacey Richards, an owner of Five Star Mechanical, Inc., was one of the original founding members of Five Star and is currently the President of the company. He has been with the company since its inception in 2005 and has over 25 years of experience in the HVAC industry, specializing in chillers, boilers, and controls. He enjoys the relationships created by directly working with our customers. Stacey holds several certifications including a master plumbing license and master mechanical license. He has also been awarded UA Star certification for HVAC from Local Union 441. He volunteers on various committees at his church, as well as serving as the Executive Chair for the Church Council. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, going to sporting events and spending time with his wife Shawna and their family.
Scott Wegerer is one of the original owners of Five Star Mechanical. He oversees the service division of the company and shop operations. Scott started in the trade as a service technician in 1996 and uses that experience daily in communicating with our technicians and explaining equipment repair and replacement options to our customers. Certifications include Journeyman Mechanical License and certification in Thermal/Infrared Thermography. In 2015 he was chosen for and graduated from the Emerging Leaders program in Wichita. He spends much of his spare time volunteering at his parish and spending time with his wife Tiffany and their six children.
Construction Sales and Service Support Personnel
Drew Schon came to Five Star Mechanical in 2014 as the Construction Manager. Drew brings 20 years of experience in the construction and installation of plumbing, mechanical and industrial piping, construction management, and estimating to Five Star. He also supervises our Sheet Metal Department and assists in scheduling and service work for Five Star.
Talor Jinks is Five Star’s piping superintendent and works closely with Drew Schon. Talor has been with Five Star since 2016, but has been in the HVAC industry for many years and has excellent knowledge of trade related piping systems and the installation of those systems. He assists Drew with manpower scheduling for the construction department and also helps field technicians with decisions regarding piping needs.
Danny Schneider is our Sheet Metal Supervisor and oversees production and installation of duct work installed by Five Star Mechanical. Danny works with Drew on manpower scheduling, estimating, and production timelines. Danny has been with Five Star since 2017 but has many years experience in the sheet metal industry.
Michael Grizzard came in Five Star in 2018 and is a Project Manager for the construction department. Michael's responsibilities include assisting Drew, Talor, and Danny in manpower management, customer care, employee oversight, and quoting.
Reliable Controls Sales and Support Personnel
Todd Helmut, a 12 year veteran in the HVAC controls industry, has been with Five Star since the spring of 2014. Todd focuses on the day to day operations of Five Star’s Controls Department, including sales, support, installation, projection management and service. He currently has Level 4 Reliable Controls ® Authorized Dealer certification, along with specialties in Advance BACnetintegration, Modbus, LONWorks, and JCI N2 integration. He enjoys programming and troubleshooting complex control strategies and sequences for our customers using creative techniques and ideas to satisfy our customers.
Sales and Service Support Personnel
Shawn Fraley has worked with Five Star Mechanical, Inc. since 2006 as one of the first employees that Five Star hired. Shawn graduated from Pittsburg State University with an associate’s degree in applied science and has 18 years of experience in the HVAC industry with many of those years being in the heavy commercial and industrial areas of the trade. He specializes in chiller and boiler maintenance and repair. If Shawn is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family on aquatic vacations and enjoys the great outdoors.
Sean McKibban, a Service and Sales Supervisor, specializes in sales, estimating, mechanical technical support, and controls technical support. He has been in the HVAC industry for over 10 years and started working for Five Star in 2015. He is Tridium Certified and a graduate of Kansas State University and Vatterott College. Sean is an affiliated member of ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and specialized in providing our customers with solutions for their facility needs. He enjoys giving back by volunteering with youth sports and is actively involved with his church.
Keith Rohling, a Service and Sales Supervisor, started with Five Star in 2016. He brings with him over 32 years of experience in troubleshooting HVAC equipment. He works on a variety of estimates, from minor repair to replacement of entire systems. He also provides support for field technicians as necessary. He received some of his education from Wichita Area VoTech and is a member of ASHRAE. He also volunteers at his local church.
Ryan Woodard is a graduate from York College in York, NE, holding a BA in Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting. He came to Five Star in 2011 as an internal accountant for Five Star and has since become the Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing all functions within the office, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, IT, Payroll, Sales Tax Law, and Financial Statement preparation. He enjoys helping customers resolve problems and providing excellent customer service. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Carpenter Place, a local no-profit in Wichita serving at-risk youth and is a children’s education teacher with his church.
Tracy Hockett, dispatch coordinator, has been with Five Star for just under a year. She is responsible for service coordination of the technicians and handling incoming service requests from our customers.
Cathy Kohlman came to Five Star in 2018 and is in charge of our Accounts Receivable processes. She is responsible for all invoicing and statement reconciliations for our customers. Cathy is also a hot air balloon owner.
Danielle Batten recently started with Five Star but has been in the accounting field prior to coming to work with us. Danielle's responsibilities include accounts payable processing and posting accounts receivable checks.
